An annual Gala Celebration & auction
Benefiting the Boston Gay Men's Chorus
Saturday, May 3, 7:00pm
The Roxy, 279 Tremont St., Boston, MA 02116
Crescendo is the BGMC's most important fundraising event of the year. On this festive evening over 500 friends of the Chorus will gather together in the spirit of giving.
Crescendo is not your ordinary fundraiser. Instead, it is an extraordinary celebration of the Chorus and its friends.
Please join us for this year's celebration on Saturday, May 3rd for Crescendo’s distinctive live and silent auctions, cocktails, a sumptuous dessert buffet and entertainment by the Midwestern maven of comedy, Miss Richfield 1981.
Miss Richfield 1981
Hostess & Entertainer, Crescendo 2008
Dedicating her life to the friendly citizens and responsible merchants of her hometown, Miss Richfield 1981 is fast becoming one of America’s national treasures. This Midwestern maven is winning over audiences around the country with homespun warmth and edgy improv, leaving audiences in hysterics with a truly original performance. National appearances have included “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “Today” on NBC.
This unique combination of Midwestern sensibilities and off-the-page humor stems from creator Russ King. As a former journalist and Minnesota native, King created the character with a rich history that begins with her life-long goal of being crowned beauty queen of her first-ring suburb of Minneapolis. Since then, the character continues to promote the values and principles of Richfield, Minnesota, “where butter is a spice and gravy is a beverage.”
